    UN: $100 Laptops for Everyone!

    BetaNews is reporting that the UN is supporting efforts for a $100 laptop for the masses: 
    The United Nations is preparing to officially support the MIT $100 laptop program by signing a agreement between its Development Programme arm and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The signing will take place in Davos, Switzerland on Saturday....

    The agreement would call for the United Nations Development Programme to assist the non-profit program One Laptop per Child in working with local and international groups to ensure the laptops make it to children in developing nations.

    What a wonderful idea. 
     
    Assuming the incompetent and fraud-ridden United Nations is able to excute on this -- perhaps once they finish wiping Israel off the map -- have they figured out on how to address the computer waste problem that is plauging the third-world?
     
    All those laptops will be sure to come in handy where Google has promised to censor its searches so that students don't stumble across any dangerous ideas....like Democracy or Tianamen Square....
