This day is always one of mixed emotions for us.  We are reminded as we can very clearly see the lights of tribute from our backyard. 

 

On that morning my daughter, Courtney was still intubated and on a respirator.  She had a doctors appointment that morning and she suddenly began to destat and struggle to breath.  About 5 minutes later we got a call to turn on the TV...the first plane had already hit the tower.  We saw the 2nd live on TV.  Later that day we saw the cloud of destruction over the city with our own eyes.

 

We always found it rather eery that she would destat at roughly the moment that the first plane hit.  She hadn't had a similar episode for almost two months.

 

My wife knew several people who perished on that day -- and some with absolutely heartbreaking stories.
